Ingredients

1 small | Onion , thinly sliced |

2 tablespoons | Mustard oil |

1 teaspoon | Salt |

1 | Chili , dried red |
|
2 tablespoons | Cilantro , chopped |

1 teaspoon | Lemon juice |
|
1 | Egg , boiled, optional |
Instructions
- 1 Boil the potatoes in a pot until they are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork.
- 2 Peel the boiled potatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 3 Mash the potatoes using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
- 4 Finely chop the onion, green chili, and coriander leaves.
- 5 Add the chopped onion, green chili, and coriander leaves to the mashed potatoes.
- 6 Drizzle mustard oil over the potato mixture.
- 7 Add salt and lemon juice to taste.
- 8 Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- 9 Peel and slice the boiled egg, if using, and gently fold it into the mixture.
- 10 Serve the Aloo Pitika at room temperature or slightly warm.
Tips
For a smoky flavor, you can lightly roast the green chili before adding it to the mixture.
