Ingredients

Potato 3 medium Potato , peeled and cubed
Onion 1 small Onion , thinly sliced
mustard oil 2 tablespoons Mustard oil
salt 1 teaspoon Salt
Chili 1 Chili , dried red
Cilantro 2 tablespoons Cilantro , chopped
lemon juice 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
Egg 1 Egg , boiled, optional

Instructions

  1. 1 Boil the potatoes in a pot until they are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork.
  2. 2 Peel the boiled potatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.
  3. 3 Mash the potatoes using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
  4. 4 Finely chop the onion, green chili, and coriander leaves.
  5. 5 Add the chopped onion, green chili, and coriander leaves to the mashed potatoes.
  6. 6 Drizzle mustard oil over the potato mixture.
  7. 7 Add salt and lemon juice to taste.
  8. 8 Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  9. 9 Peel and slice the boiled egg, if using, and gently fold it into the mixture.
  10. 10 Serve the Aloo Pitika at room temperature or slightly warm.

Tips

For a smoky flavor, you can lightly roast the green chili before adding it to the mixture.
