Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Avieel.
Avieel is an AI-powered meal decision app. Instead of showing you a list of dishes, it suggests complete combos — a main dish paired with the right sides and accents — matched to your time of day, your location, and your personal taste. Beyond combos, Avieel also helps you plan a full week of meals, generate a shopping list, and cook from full recipes.
A combo is a curated meal combination: one anchor dish (the centrepiece), one or two pairings (dishes that go alongside), and sometimes an accent — a condiment, chutney, or small addition that ties everything together. For example: biryani + raita + pickle, or dosa + sambar + coconut chutney.
Combos are selected by an AI model that considers the time of day (morning, midday, afternoon, evening, night), your broad location (to surface locally relevant cuisines), and — when you're logged in — your interaction history. The more you like and dislike, the more personalised the suggestions become.
No. You can browse combos and interact with them as a guest. Creating a free account lets Avieel remember your preferences, dietary settings, liked combos, and meal plans across devices and sessions.
Surprise mode suggests cross-cuisine combos — pairings from a different culinary tradition than the anchor dish. It's a good way to discover unexpected combinations you might never have thought of.
You can toggle a veg-only filter on the home page, or set a dietary preference (vegetarian, vegan) in your account preferences. The filter affects which dishes appear in combos, meal plans, and auto-fill suggestions. Note that dietary labels are based on our content data — always verify with the restaurant or source if you have strict requirements or allergies.
We currently cover a range of South and North Indian cuisines including North Malabar, Chettinad, Hyderabadi, Punjabi, and more. We're adding new cuisines and dishes regularly.
Tap the heart icon on any combo card to like it. Liked combos are saved to your account and can be viewed from the My Likes page. You need to be logged in to save combos.
Yes — the Meal Planner lays out every day of the week by slot (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and more), so you can assign combos or dishes in advance. If you'd rather not plan it manually, use "Auto-fill week" to have it built for you automatically based on your taste and dietary preferences.
Yes. Once you've planned your week, open the shopping list from the Meal Planner and it automatically consolidates every ingredient needed across all your planned dishes into a single list.
Yes — you can export your weekly meal plan as a PDF or an image, or share it via a link. Shared meal plans are view-only and not indexed by search engines.
Most dishes include a full recipe: ingredients with exact amounts and units, step-by-step cooking instructions, prep and cook time, and servings — so you can actually cook what you planned, not just browse it.
Yes — while building a meal plan, you can add your own custom dish if the one you want isn't already in our catalogue.
