4 cloves | Garlic , finely chopped |

5 pieces | Chili , dry red |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Coriander Seed |
|
1 teaspoon | Cumin , seeds |
|
1 tablespoon | Coconut oil |
|
1 cup | Water |
|

Instructions
- 1 Soak the dried amla in a cup of warm water for about 15 minutes until they soften.
- 2 In a pan, dry roast the coriander seeds and cumin seeds on low heat until aromatic.
- 3 Grind the grated coconut, roasted spices, garlic, dry red chilies, and turmeric powder into a smooth paste using a little water.
- 4 Heat coconut oil in a pan and add the ground paste. Sauté for a few minutes until the oil starts to separate.
- 5 Add the soaked amla along with the water they were soaked in. Stir well.
- 6 Add additional water to achieve the desired consistency and bring the mixture to a boil.
- 7 Simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 8 Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
Tips
For a richer flavor, you can add a small piece of jaggery to balance the tartness of the amla.
