| 1/4 cup | urad dal flour |
| 1 tablespoon | sesame seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 tablespoon | butter |

| — | oil for deep frying |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, urad dal flour, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt.
- 2 Add butter to the dry ingredients and mix well until it resembles a crumbly texture.
- 3 Gradually add water to the mixture and knead into a smooth, soft dough.
- 4 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 5 Fill a murukku press with the prepared dough.
- 6 Press the dough into spirals directly into the hot oil.
- 7 Fry the murukku until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
- 8 Remove the murukku from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- 9 Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
- 10 Allow the murukku to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Tips
Ensure the dough is smooth and not too dry to avoid breaking while pressing. Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of red chili powder.
