500 grams | Mutton , bone-in pieces |

2 tablespoons | Oil |
|
1 large | Onion , finely sliced |
|
2 medium | Tomato , chopped |
|
1 tablespoon | Ginger-garlic paste |
|
2 teaspoons | Red chili powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
2 teaspoons | Coriander powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Cumin , powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Garam masala |
|
1 cup | Water |
|
— | Salt , to taste |

2 | Green Chili , slit |
|
1 handful | Cilantro , chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat.
- 2 Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 3 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
- 4 Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
- 5 Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 6 Add mutton pieces and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are well coated with the spices.
- 7 Add water and mix well. Close the lid of the pressure cooker.
- 8 Cook on medium heat for 3-4 whistles or until the mutton is tender.
- 9 Once the pressure releases, open the lid and add garam masala and slit green chilies.
- 10 Simmer for another 5 minutes to let the flavors blend.
- 11 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a richer flavor, you can add a few curry leaves along with the onions.
