Ingredients

1 cup dried figs (anjeer)
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup ghee
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tablespoons cashew nuts
2 tablespoons almonds
2 tablespoons raisins
1 tablespoon pistachios
saffron strands (a pinch)

Instructions

  1. 1 Soak the dried figs in warm water for 30 minutes to soften them.
  2. 2 Drain the figs and blend them into a coarse paste using a little milk.

  4. 4 Add the cashew nuts, almonds, and pistachios, and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

  6. 6 Add the remaining milk and sugar to the pan, and mix well.
  7. 7 Cook the mixture until it thickens and the ghee starts to separate from the sides.
  8. 8 Add cardamom powder and saffron strands, and mix well.
  9. 9 Stir in the fried nuts and raisins, reserving a few for garnish.
  10. 10 Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
