Ingredients

2 medium red onions
1 medium lime
1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon chaat masala
salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel and thinly slice the red onions.
  2. 2 Place the sliced onions in a bowl of cold water and let them sit for 10 minutes to reduce their pungency.
  3. 3 Drain the water and pat the onions dry with a paper towel.
  4. 4 Finely chop the fresh coriander leaves.
  5. 5 Cut the lime into wedges.
  6. 6 In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced onions, red chili powder, chaat masala, and salt.
  7. 7 Squeeze the juice of half a lime over the onion mixture and toss well to combine.
  8. 8 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  9. 9 Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
