Ingredients

1 cup sun-dried lentil dumplings (Badi)
2 tablespoons mustard oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, grated
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
salt to taste
2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat the mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. 2 Add the sun-dried lentil dumplings (Badi) and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3 In the same pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  4. 4 Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  5. 5 Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  6. 6 Mix in red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well.
  7. 7 Crumble the fried Badi into the pan and mix thoroughly with the spices.
  8. 8 Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  9. 9 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Tips

For a spicier version, add more red chili powder or use green chilies.
