Ingredients
| 1 cup | sun-dried lentil dumplings (Badi) |
| 2 tablespoons | mustard oil |
| 1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
| 2 cloves | garlic, minced |
| 1 inch | ginger, grated |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | coriander powder |
| — | salt to taste |
| 2 tablespoons | fresh coriander leaves, chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat the mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add the sun-dried lentil dumplings (Badi) and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- 3 In the same pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 4 Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 5 Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- 6 Mix in red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well.
- 7 Crumble the fried Badi into the pan and mix thoroughly with the spices.
- 8 Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- 9 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a spicier version, add more red chili powder or use green chilies.
