Ingredients
| 2 tablespoons | oil |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 pinch | asafoetida |
| 2 cups | chopped cabbage |
| 1 cup | chopped potatoes |
| 1 cup | chopped onions |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | garam masala |
| 2 tablespoons | freshly grated coconut |
| 2 tablespoons | chopped coriander leaves |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- 3 Add cumin seeds and asafoetida, sauté for a few seconds.
- 4 Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- 5 Add chopped potatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6 Add chopped cabbage, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 7 Cover and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
- 8 Stir in the garam masala and cook for another 2 minutes.
- 9 Garnish with freshly grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a smoky flavor, you can cook the bhaji on an open flame for a few minutes before serving.
