Ingredients
| 1 cup | all-purpose flour |
| 1/2 cup | semolina |
| 1/4 cup | sugar |
| 1/2 teaspoon | baking powder |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 | egg |
| 1/2 cup | milk |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| — | oil for frying |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, sugar, baking powder, and cardamom powder.
- 2 In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add milk and ghee. Mix well.
- 3 Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously to form a smooth batter.
- 4 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 5 Once the oil is hot, pour a small ladle of batter into the oil to form a small pancake.
- 6 Fry until golden brown on one side, then flip and fry the other side until golden brown.
- 7 Remove the bhakra from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- 8 Repeat the frying process with the remaining batter.
Tips
Ensure the oil is not too hot to prevent the bhakra from browning too quickly.
