Ingredients

500 grams beef, cut into cubes
1 cup thick yogurt
2 tablespoons mustard oil
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 tablespoon papaya paste
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 medium onion, finely sliced
2 tablespoons fried onions
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large bowl, combine yogurt, mustard oil, ginger paste, garlic paste, papaya paste, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to make the marinade.
  2. 2 Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. 3 Preheat a grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  4. 4 Thread the marinated beef cubes onto skewers, alternating with slices of onion.
  5. 5 Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred on the edges.
  6. 6 Remove from the grill and let the kebabs rest for a few minutes.
  7. 7 Garnish with fried onions and chopped fresh coriander before serving.

Tips

For best results, marinate the beef overnight and use a charcoal grill for a smoky flavor.
