Ingredients
| 10 cloves | garlic |
| 2 tablespoons | mustard oil |
| 2 teaspoons | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 tablespoon | lemon juice |
| 1 | small tomato |
Instructions
- 1 Peel the garlic cloves and crush them lightly using a mortar and pestle.
- 2 Heat mustard oil in a pan until it starts to smoke, then let it cool slightly.
- 3 Add cumin seeds to the oil and let them splutter.
- 4 Add the crushed garlic to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown.
- 5 Chop the tomato finely and add it to the pan.
- 6 Cook the mixture until the tomato becomes soft and oil starts to separate.
- 7 Add red chili powder and salt, and mix well.
- 8 Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 9 Add lemon juice and mix thoroughly.
- 10 Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.
Tips
Adjust the amount of red chili powder to your spice preference.
