Ingredients

4 slices white bread
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tablespoons ghee
2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
saffron strands (a few)
rose water (a few drops)

Instructions

  1. 1 Cut the bread slices into quarters, making small squares.
  2. 2 Heat ghee in a pan and fry the bread pieces until they are golden brown and crisp. Set aside.
  3. 3 In a separate pan, combine sugar and water to make a sugar syrup. Boil until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. 4 Add cardamom powder and saffron strands to the sugar syrup. Stir well.
  5. 5 Add a few drops of rose water to the syrup for fragrance.
  6. 6 Dip the fried bread pieces into the sugar syrup, ensuring they are well coated.
  7. 7 Arrange the syrup-coated bread pieces on a serving plate.
  8. 8 Garnish with chopped nuts before serving.
