Ingredients
| 1 cup | Bora Saul (sticky rice) |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1/2 cup | jaggery |
| 1 cup | grated coconut |
| 1/4 teaspoon | salt |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the Bora Saul thoroughly under running water.
- 2 Soak the washed rice in 1 cup of water for at least 4-5 hours or overnight for best results.
- 3 Drain the soaked rice and set aside.
- 4 In a pot, add the soaked rice and 1 cup of water. Bring it to a boil.
- 5 Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer until the rice is cooked and sticky, about 20-25 minutes.
- 6 In a separate pan, melt the jaggery with a little water until it forms a syrup.
- 7 Add the jaggery syrup to the cooked rice and mix well.
- 8 Stir in the grated coconut and a pinch of salt. Mix until everything is well combined.
- 9 Serve the Bora Saul Jolpan warm or at room temperature.
Tips
Soaking the rice overnight will enhance its stickiness and texture.
