Ingredients

1 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
1 tablespoon mint leaves, chopped
1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  1. 1 In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
  2. 2 Add the garlic paste, red chili powder, and salt to the yogurt, and mix well.
  3. 3 Heat oil in a small pan over medium heat.
  4. 4 Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
  5. 5 Pour the tempered cumin seeds and oil into the yogurt mixture.
  6. 6 Mix well and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  7. 7 Garnish with chopped coriander and mint leaves.
  8. 8 Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Tips

For a tangier flavor, add a few drops of lemon juice to the raita.
