Ingredients
| 2 cups | cabbage, finely shredded |
| 1 cup | grated coconut |
| 1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
| 2 cloves | garlic, minced |
| 2 tablespoons | coconut oil |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 2 teaspoons | cumin seeds |
| 2 | green chilies, slit |
| 1 sprig | curry leaves |
| 1/4 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| — | salt to taste |
Instructions
- 1 Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- 3 Add cumin seeds, green chilies, curry leaves, and sauté for a minute.
- 4 Add chopped onions and garlic, and sauté until onions turn translucent.
- 5 Add the shredded cabbage, turmeric powder, and salt.
- 6 Mix well and cook covered on low heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 7 Add the grated coconut and mix thoroughly.
- 8 Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cabbage is cooked but still crunchy.
- 9 Remove from heat and serve warm.
Tips
For an authentic taste, ensure to use fresh coconut and coconut oil.
