Instructions
- 1 Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Tear into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- 2 In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Gently lower the egg into the boiling water and cook for 1 minute. Remove the egg and set aside to cool slightly.
- 3 In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt.
- 4 Crack the soft-boiled egg into the lemon juice mixture and whisk until smooth.
- 5 Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while continuing to whisk until the dressing is well combined and emulsified.
- 6 In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, croutons, and Parmesan cheese.
- 7 Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat all ingredients evenly.
- 8 Season with additional salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- 9 Serve immediately, ensuring each serving has a good mix of lettuce, croutons, and cheese.
Tips
For a more authentic taste, use anchovy paste in the dressing. You can also add grilled chicken or shrimp for a heartier meal.
