1 tablespoon | Mustard Seed |

1 teaspoon | Cumin , seeds |
|
2 tablespoons | Mustard oil |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
2 teaspoons | Red chili powder |
|
1 cup | Coconut , grated |
|
2 | Green Chili , slit |
|
1 inch | Ginger , finely chopped |
|
1 clove | Garlic , finely chopped |
|
1 teaspoon | Sugar |
|
— | Salt , to taste |

1 cup | Water |

1 handful | Cilantro , chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Clean and slice the mushrooms into thin pieces.
- 2 In a blender, make a paste of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, grated coconut, green chilies, ginger, and garlic with a little water.
- 3 Heat mustard oil in a pan until it reaches smoking point, then reduce the heat.
- 4 Add the mustard paste to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- 5 Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the paste and mix well.
- 6 Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and stir to coat them with the spice mixture.
- 7 Add a cup of water and sugar, then cover and cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
- 8 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a more authentic taste, use freshly ground mustard seeds.
