Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
3 hamburger buns
3 slices cheddar cheese
lettuce leaves
tomato slices
pickles
ketchup
mustard
mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. 1 In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce until just combined.
  2. 2 Divide the mixture into 3 equal portions and shape each into a patty slightly larger than the buns.
  3. 3 Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. 4 Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip.
  5. 5 Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese, cooking for another 3-4 minutes or until desired doneness.
  6. 6 Toast the hamburger buns lightly in the skillet or in a toaster.
  7. 7 Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the cheese-covered patty, tomato slices, pickles, and any desired condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
  8. 8 Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Tips

For juicier burgers, avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking.
