200 grams | Paneer , fresh |

2 tablespoons | Mustard oil |

1 teaspoon | Panch Phoron |
|
1 medium | Onion , finely chopped |
|
1 medium | Tomato , chopped |
|
1 teaspoon | Ginger-garlic paste |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Cumin , powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Coriander powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Red chili powder |
|
1 cup | Water |
|
1 handful | Cilantro , chopped |
|
— | Salt , to taste |
Instructions
- 1 Heat mustard oil in a pan until it starts to smoke slightly.
- 2 Add panch phoron and let it splutter.
- 3 Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 4 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- 5 Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
- 6 Mix in turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder.
- 7 Cook the spices for a couple of minutes, stirring continuously.
- 8 Add the chhena pieces and gently mix them with the spices.
- 9 Pour in a cup of water and add salt to taste.
- 10 Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat.
- 11 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a richer taste, fry the chhena pieces until golden before adding them to the curry.
