Ingredients

2 cups rice husk (chhilka)
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  1. 1 Clean the rice husk thoroughly to remove any impurities.
  2. 2 In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice husk and wheat flour.
  3. 3 Add salt to the mixture and mix well.
  4. 4 Gradually add water to the mixture while kneading it into a soft dough.
  5. 5 Divide the dough into small balls of equal size.
  6. 6 Roll each ball into a flat, round roti using a rolling pin.
  7. 7 Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat.
  8. 8 Place the rolled roti on the hot tawa.
  9. 9 Cook the roti on one side until bubbles start to form, then flip it over.
  10. 10 Apply a little oil around the edges of the roti and cook until both sides are golden brown.
  11. 11 Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.

Tips

Serve hot with a side of chutney or curry for a traditional Jharkhand meal experience.
