Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ghee
oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. 1 In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. 2 Gradually add water to the flour mixture, stirring continuously to form a smooth batter.
  3. 3 Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
  4. 4 Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  5. 5 Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it thinly to form a crepe-like shape.
  6. 6 Cook until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. 7 Flip the Chilagi and cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
  8. 8 Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
  9. 9 Once cooked, brush each Chilagi with a little ghee before serving.

Tips

Serve Chilagi with a side of spicy chutney or yogurt for an authentic experience.
