Ingredients
| 1 cup | cholia (green chickpeas) |
| 2 cups | whole wheat flour |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 teaspoon | carom seeds (ajwain) |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| — | water as needed |
Instructions
- 1 Boil the cholia in water until they are soft, then drain and mash them lightly.
- 2 In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, salt, carom seeds, and mashed cholia.
- 3 Add ghee to the mixture and mix well.
- 4 Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough.
- 5 Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a flat roti.
- 6 Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat.
- 7 Cook each roti on the tawa until both sides are golden brown, applying a little ghee if desired.
