Ingredients

1 cup sticky rice
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup jaggery
1/4 teaspoon salt
2-3 bamboo tubes

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash the sticky rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 2-3 hours.
  2. 2 Drain the soaked rice and mix it with grated coconut, jaggery, and salt.
  3. 3 Fill the bamboo tubes with the rice mixture, leaving some space at the top for expansion.
  4. 4 Seal the open end of the bamboo tubes with banana leaves or aluminum foil.
  5. 5 Place the filled bamboo tubes upright on a steamer and steam for about 40 minutes.
  6. 6 Carefully remove the bamboo tubes from the steamer and let them cool slightly.
  7. 7 Once cooled, gently tap the bamboo tubes to release the Chunga Pitha.
  8. 8 Slice and serve warm.

Ensure the bamboo tubes are clean and free from any residue before use.
