Ingredients

1 cup water
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. 1 In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
  2. 2 Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat.
  3. 3 Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. 4 Heat oil for frying in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  5. 5 Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil using a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. 6 Fry the churros until golden and drain on paper towels.
  7. 7 Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  8. 8 Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture before serving.

Tips

For a richer flavor, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough.
