Ingredients

6 slices white or whole wheat bread
6 slices cooked turkey or chicken breast
6 slices cooked bacon
3 leaves lettuce
2 tomatoes, sliced
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon butter
1 pinch salt
1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1 Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  2. 2 Spread butter on one side of each toasted bread slice.
  3. 3 Spread mayonnaise on the buttered side of each bread slice.
  4. 4 Layer two slices of turkey or chicken on one slice of bread.
  5. 5 Add a slice of lettuce and two slices of tomato on top of the turkey.
  6. 6 Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
  7. 7 Place another slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down.
  8. 8 Add three slices of bacon on top of the second slice of bread.
  9. 9 Add another slice of lettuce and two more slices of tomato.
  10. 10 Place the final slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down.
  11. 11 Secure the sandwich with toothpicks and cut diagonally into quarters.

Tips

For a healthier option, use whole grain bread and low-fat mayonnaise.
