Ingredients
| 1 cup | plain yogurt |
| 2 tablespoons | fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped |
| 1 tablespoon | mint leaves, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | sugar |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 tablespoon | vegetable oil |
| 1 small | onion, finely chopped |
| 1 small | green chili, finely chopped |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
- 2 Add the finely chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, red chili powder, sugar, and salt to the yogurt. Mix well.
- 3 In a small pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- 4 Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds to the hot oil. Allow them to splutter.
- 5 Add the finely chopped onion and green chili to the pan. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
- 6 Pour the tempered mixture over the yogurt and mix everything together.
- 7 Adjust salt and sugar to taste.
- 8 Chill the dahi chutney in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Tips
For a thicker consistency, strain the yogurt using a muslin cloth before mixing.
