Ingredients
| 1 medium | duddhi (bottle gourd) |
| 1 cup | milk |
| 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 10-12 | cashew nuts |
| 10-12 | almonds |
| 10-12 | raisins |
| 1 pinch | saffron strands |
Instructions
- 1 Peel and grate the duddhi (bottle gourd).
- 2 Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a pan and roast the cashew nuts and almonds until golden brown. Set aside.
- 3 In the same pan, add the grated duddhi and sauté for 5-7 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- 4 Add the milk to the pan and cook on a low flame until the milk is absorbed and the duddhi is cooked.
- 5 Stir in the sugar and continue to cook until the mixture thickens.
- 6 Add the remaining ghee, cardamom powder, and saffron strands. Mix well.
- 7 Garnish with roasted cashew nuts, almonds, and raisins before serving.
Tips
For a richer taste, you can add a little khoya (mawa) along with the milk.
