250 grams elephant yam
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 tablespoon rice flour
1 tablespoon corn flour
2 tablespoons coconut oil
salt to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel and slice the elephant yam into thin, even slices.
  2. 2 In a mixing bowl, combine turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, rice flour, corn flour, and salt.
  3. 3 Add the yam slices to the bowl and toss them well to coat evenly with the spice mixture.
  4. 4 Drizzle lemon juice over the coated yam slices and mix again.
  5. 5 Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
  6. 6 Once the oil is hot, add the coated yam slices in a single layer.
  7. 7 Fry the yam slices until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping occasionally.
  8. 8 Remove the fried yam slices and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  9. 9 Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves before serving.
