Ingredients
| 1 cup | white sesame seeds |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 2 tablespoons | grated coconut |
| 1 tablespoon | cashew nuts |
| 1 tablespoon | raisins |
Instructions
- 1 Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they start to pop and turn golden. Set aside to cool.
- 2 In the same pan, add ghee and fry the cashew nuts until golden brown, then add raisins and fry until they puff up. Remove and set aside.
- 3 Grate the jaggery and melt it in a pan with a tablespoon of water over low heat until it forms a syrup. Ensure it reaches a soft ball consistency.
- 4 Add the roasted sesame seeds, cardamom powder, grated coconut, fried cashew nuts, and raisins to the jaggery syrup. Mix well.
- 5 Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then grease your palms with ghee and shape the mixture into small balls or 'laddus'.
- 6 Let the Ellu Unde cool completely before serving or storing.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery syrup reaches the right consistency to help bind the laddus properly.
