| 1 cup | young jackfruit (fanas), peeled and cubed |
| 2 tablespoons | oil |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 pinch | asafoetida (hing) |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 tablespoon | Malvani masala |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
| 1 medium | tomato, chopped |
| 1 tablespoon | grated coconut |
| 1 tablespoon | coriander leaves, chopped |
| — | salt to taste |
| 1 cup | water |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter.
- 3 Add asafoetida and turmeric powder, stirring quickly.
- 4 Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- 5 Stir in the chopped tomato and cook until soft.
- 6 Add the cubed jackfruit and mix well.
- 7 Sprinkle Malvani masala, red chili powder, and salt over the mixture.
- 8 Add water, cover the pan, and let it cook until the jackfruit is tender.
- 9 Once cooked, add grated coconut and mix thoroughly.
- 10 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
