250 grams | Fish , fresh, Rohu or Catla |

1 medium | Onion , thinly sliced |
|
1 teaspoon | Ginger , paste |
|
1 teaspoon | Garlic , paste |
|
2 tablespoons | Gram Flour |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Red chili powder |
|
1 | Chili , dried red |
|
1 tablespoon | Mustard oil |
|
— | Salt , to taste |
|
— | Water , as needed |
|
— | Oil , for deep frying |
Instructions
- 1 Clean and cut the fish into small pieces.
- 2 In a bowl, mix the fish pieces with turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- 3 Finely chop the onion and green chili.
- 4 In a mixing bowl, combine the marinated fish, chopped onion, green chili, and gram flour. Add a little water if needed to form a thick batter.
- 5 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 6 Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the fish mixture into the oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- 7 Remove the fish bor from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- 8 Serve hot as a snack or side dish.
Tips
For an authentic taste, use mustard oil for frying. Adjust the amount of green chili according to your spice preference.
