Ingredients

1.5 pounds beef short ribs
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
0.5 cup brown sugar
0.5 cup pear juice or grated pear
0.25 cup sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon black pepper
green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Rinse the beef short ribs under cold water to remove any bone fragments.
  2. 2 In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, pear juice, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. 3 Place the short ribs in the marinade, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. 4 Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. 5 Remove the ribs from the marinade and let any excess liquid drip off.
  6. 6 Grill the ribs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely charred and cooked through.
  7. 7 Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Tips

For a more authentic taste, use Korean pear juice. Ensure the ribs are well-marinated for the best flavor.
