| 4 tablespoons | butter |
| 4 slices | cheddar cheese |

Instructions
- 1 Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- 2 Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- 3 Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet.
- 4 Top each slice with a slice of cheddar cheese.
- 5 Season with salt and pepper if desired.
- 6 Cover with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- 7 Grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 8 Press down gently with a spatula to ensure even grilling.
- 9 Remove from the skillet, slice each sandwich in half, and serve warm.
Tips
