4 slices bread
4 tablespoons butter
4 slices cheddar cheese
salt to taste
pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  2. 2 Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
  3. 3 Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet.
  4. 4 Top each slice with a slice of cheddar cheese.

  6. 6 Cover with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
