Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a small cake tin.
  2. 2 In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3 Add the egg and beat well until fully incorporated.
  4. 4 Sift together the flour, baking powder, cardamom powder, and salt.
  5. 5 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until smooth.
  6. 6 Fold in the chopped walnuts and raisins gently.
  7. 7 Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.
  8. 8 Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. 9 Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips

For a more authentic flavor, you can add a pinch of saffron to the batter.
