| 1 cup | all-purpose flour |
| 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 1/4 cup | butter |
| 1/4 cup | milk |
| 1 teaspoon | baking powder |
| 1 | egg |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1/4 teaspoon | salt |
| 1/4 cup | chopped walnuts |
| 1/4 cup | raisins |
Instructions
- 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a small cake tin.
- 2 In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3 Add the egg and beat well until fully incorporated.
- 4 Sift together the flour, baking powder, cardamom powder, and salt.
- 5 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until smooth.
- 6 Fold in the chopped walnuts and raisins gently.
- 7 Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.
- 8 Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 9 Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips
For a more authentic flavor, you can add a pinch of saffron to the batter.
