Ingredients

4 hot dog buns
4 hot dogs
1 cup sauerkraut
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter
mustard to taste
ketchup to taste
relish to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat a grill or a stovetop pan over medium heat.
  2. 2 Place the hot dogs on the grill or pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and have grill marks.
  3. 3 While the hot dogs are cooking, melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat.
  4. 4 Add the sauerkraut to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until it's warm and slightly golden.
  5. 5 Toast the hot dog buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly browned.
  6. 6 Place a hot dog in each bun.
  7. 7 Top each hot dog with a portion of sauerkraut and shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. 8 Add mustard, ketchup, and relish to taste.
  9. 9 Serve immediately while hot.
