Ingredients

1/4 cup chana dal (split chickpeas)
1/4 cup moong dal (split green gram)
1/4 cup peanuts
1/4 cup fried gram (dalia)
1/4 cup whole dry corn (makka jola)
1/4 cup puffed rice (murmura)
1/4 cup flattened rice (poha)
1/4 cup cashew nuts
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
4-5 curry leaves
salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Instructions

  1. 1 Dry roast chana dal, moong dal, peanuts, and whole dry corn separately until they turn golden brown. Set aside to cool.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a large pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and curry leaves.
  3. 3 Add the roasted dals, peanuts, cashew nuts, and whole dry corn to the pan and mix well.
  4. 4 Add fried gram, puffed rice, and flattened rice to the mixture and stir gently.
  5. 5 Season with salt and red chili powder. Mix thoroughly to ensure even coating.
  6. 6 Allow the mixture to cool completely before serving or storing.
