1 teaspoon | Paprika |

2 tablespoons | Butter |
|
1 cup | Yogurt , plain |
|
2 cloves | Garlic , minced |
|
2 pieces | Pitum Bread , or pide bread |
|
1 cup | Tomato sauce |
|
1 tablespoon | Tomato paste |
|
1 teaspoon | Red Pepper Flake |
|
1 tablespoon | Vinegar |
|
1 tablespoon | Sugar |
|
— | Parsley , fresh, for garnish |
Instructions
- 1 In a bowl, combine the sliced meat with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2 Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated meat until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3 In a separate saucepan, melt the butter and add the tomato paste. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the paste is fragrant.
- 4 Add the tomato sauce, red pepper flakes, vinegar, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- 5 Toast the pide bread or pita bread until crispy, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
- 6 In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic with the plain yogurt.
- 7 To assemble, place the toasted bread pieces on a serving platter. Top with the cooked meat.
- 8 Pour the tomato sauce over the meat and bread, then drizzle with the garlic yogurt.
- 9 Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Tips
For an authentic touch, use a mix of lamb and beef. Serve with grilled green peppers and tomatoes on the side.
