Ingredients

3 cups murmura (puffed rice)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
1 small cucumber, finely chopped
1 small boiled potato, diced
2 tablespoons mustard oil
2 tablespoons bhujia or sev
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1 teaspoon black salt
1 teaspoon chaat masala
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large mixing bowl, add the murmura (puffed rice).
  2. 2 Add the finely chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, and boiled potato to the bowl.
  3. 3 Drizzle the mustard oil over the mixture.
  4. 4 Add the bhujia or sev, roasted peanuts, and chopped coriander leaves.
  5. 5 Sprinkle black salt, chaat masala, and red chili powder over the ingredients.
  6. 6 Add the finely chopped green chili for extra heat.
  7. 7 Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the mixture.
  8. 8 Mix all the ingredients thoroughly using your hands or a large spoon, ensuring the spices and oil coat the puffed rice evenly.
  9. 9 Serve immediately to maintain the crispiness of the puffed rice.

Tips

For a more authentic flavor, use mustard oil as it adds a distinct pungency to the dish.
