Ingredients
| 1 cup | sticky rice |
| 200 grams | pork, cut into small pieces |
| 1 tablespoon | ginger, finely chopped |
| 1 tablespoon | garlic, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | black pepper powder |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 2 cups | water |
| 1 tablespoon | mustard oil |
| — | fresh coriander leaves for garnish |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the sticky rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- 2 Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 3 Add chopped ginger and garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant.
- 4 Add the pork pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- 5 Add turmeric powder, black pepper powder, and salt to the pan, stirring well to coat the pork.
- 6 Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan, stirring to mix with the pork and spices.
- 7 Pour in 2 cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil.
- 8 Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
- 9 Once done, fluff the rice gently with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For an authentic taste, ensure to use mustard oil and adjust the spices to your preference.
