Ingredients
| 1 medium | raw mango |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | panch phoron |
| 2 pieces | dry red chilies |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 1 tablespoon | mustard oil |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
Instructions
- 1 Peel the raw mango and cut it into small cubes.
- 2 Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 3 Add mustard seeds, panch phoron, and dry red chilies to the oil and let them splutter.
- 4 Add the mango cubes to the pan and stir well.
- 5 Sprinkle turmeric powder and a pinch of salt over the mangoes and mix.
- 6 Pour in the water and bring it to a boil.
- 7 Add sugar and stir until it dissolves completely.
- 8 Simmer the chutney on low heat until the mango pieces are cooked and the chutney thickens to your desired consistency.
- 9 Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
Tips
Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sourness of the mangoes.
