Ingredients

2 raw bananas
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons mustard oil
1 pinch asafoetida
1 teaspoon panch phoron
1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel the raw bananas and slice them into thin rounds.
  2. 2 In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
  3. 3 Add the banana slices to the spice mixture and coat them evenly.
  4. 4 Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. 5 Add a pinch of asafoetida and panch phoron to the hot oil and let them splutter.
  6. 6 Add the spiced banana slices to the pan and spread them in a single layer.
  7. 7 Fry the banana slices on medium heat until they turn golden brown on both sides, flipping occasionally.
  8. 8 Once done, remove from heat and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  9. 9 Serve hot as a side dish with rice or roti.

Ensure the banana slices are evenly coated with spices for a uniform taste.
