Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup chopped jaggery
1 cup water
1 cup mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, peanuts)
1 cup dried coconut pieces
1 cup puffed rice
1 cup chopped dates
1 tablespoon ghee
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat a pan and dry roast the mixed nuts until golden, then set aside.
  2. 2 In the same pan, dry roast the dried coconut pieces until lightly browned and set aside.
  3. 3 Heat ghee in the pan, add the chopped jaggery and water, and stir until the jaggery melts completely.
  4. 4 Continue cooking the jaggery syrup on low heat until it reaches a thick, sticky consistency (soft ball stage).
  5. 5 Add the roasted nuts, coconut pieces, puffed rice, chopped dates, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt to the jaggery syrup.
  6. 6 Mix everything thoroughly until all ingredients are well coated with the jaggery syrup.
  7. 7 Grease a plate with ghee and transfer the mixture onto it.
  8. 8 Flatten and press the mixture evenly using a greased spatula.
  9. 9 Allow it to cool and set for about 15-20 minutes.
  10. 10 Cut into desired shapes and serve.

Tips

Ensure the jaggery syrup reaches the correct consistency to help the mixture bind well.
