Ingredients

1 cup peanuts
1 cup jaggery
1 cup dry coconut
1/2 cup poppy seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup ghee
1/4 cup cardamom powder
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup cashew nuts

Instructions

  1. 1 Dry roast the peanuts on medium heat until golden brown and let them cool. Remove the skins and coarsely crush them.
  2. 2 Grate the dry coconut and roast it lightly until aromatic.
  3. 3 Dry roast the poppy seeds and sesame seeds separately until they start to splutter.
  4. 4 In a pan, heat ghee and fry the cashew nuts and raisins until golden brown. Set aside.
  5. 5 In the same pan, add jaggery and a little water to make a thick syrup. Test by dropping a little syrup in water; it should form a soft ball.
  6. 6 Mix the roasted peanuts, coconut, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, cardamom powder, fried cashew nuts, and raisins into the jaggery syrup.
  7. 7 Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are coated with the syrup.
  8. 8 Grease a plate with ghee and spread the mixture evenly. Allow it to cool slightly.
  9. 9 Cut into desired shapes and let it cool completely before serving.

Tips

Ensure the jaggery syrup reaches the right consistency to bind the ingredients well.
