Ingredients

500 grams | Jackfruit , raw, peeled and cut into pieces |

2 tablespoons | Mustard oil |

1 teaspoon | Cumin , seeds |

1 medium | Onion , finely chopped |

1 teaspoon | Ginger-garlic paste |
|
2 | Green Chili , slit |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Red chili powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Coriander powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Garam masala |
|
2 medium | Tomato , pureed |
|
1 cup | Water |

Instructions
- 1 Heat mustard oil in a pressure cooker until it starts to smoke lightly.
- 2 Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 3 Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 4 Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for another minute.
- 5 Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Mix well.
- 6 Add the jackfruit pieces and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are lightly browned.
- 7 Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
- 8 Add water and salt to taste, stir well.
- 9 Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles or until the jackfruit is tender.
- 10 Once the pressure releases, open the lid and sprinkle garam masala.
- 11 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Tips
Ensure the jackfruit is tender before serving. Adjust spices to your taste preference.
