Ingredients
| 1 cup | glutinous rice |
| 1 1/2 cups | water |
| 1/4 teaspoon | salt |
Instructions
- 1 Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 2 Soak the rinsed rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- 3 Drain the soaked rice and transfer it to a steamer lined with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel.
- 4 Bring the water in the steamer to a boil over high heat.
- 5 Steam the rice over boiling water for about 30-35 minutes, or until the rice is tender and sticky.
- 6 Carefully remove the rice from the steamer and let it cool slightly before serving.
Tips
For a more authentic flavor, serve the sticky rice with mango or coconut milk.
