Ingredients
| 1 cup | whole wheat flour |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1/2 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1/4 teaspoon | salt |
| — | oil for cooking |
Instructions
- 1 In a pan, add jaggery and water, and heat until the jaggery dissolves completely. Strain to remove impurities.
- 2 Return the jaggery syrup to the pan and simmer until it thickens slightly.
- 3 Add ghee and cardamom powder to the syrup, mix well, and allow it to cool.
- 4 In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt.
- 5 Gradually add the cooled jaggery syrup to the flour, kneading into a soft dough.
- 6 Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- 7 Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat.
- 8 Place the rolled dough on the tawa and cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides, applying a little oil as needed.
- 9 Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
- 10 Serve warm.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery syrup is not too watery to avoid sticky dough.
