Ingredients

1 cup colostrum milk (or cow's milk if unavailable)
1 cup regular milk
1 cup jaggery
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 pinch saffron strands
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1 In a mixing bowl, combine colostrum milk, regular milk, and jaggery. Stir until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  2. 2 Add cardamom powder and saffron strands to the milk mixture and mix well.
  3. 3 Grease a steaming bowl or container with ghee to prevent sticking.
  4. 4 Pour the milk mixture into the greased container.
  5. 5 Cover the container with aluminum foil or a lid to prevent water from entering during steaming.
  6. 6 Place the container in a steamer and steam for about 30-40 minutes until the mixture sets and becomes firm.
  7. 7 Once done, remove from the steamer and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  8. 8 Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set completely.
  9. 9 Garnish with chopped nuts before serving, if desired.

Tips

Ensure the jaggery is completely dissolved before steaming to avoid uneven sweetness.
