Ingredients
| 1 cup | colostrum milk (or cow's milk if unavailable) |
| 1 cup | regular milk |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 pinch | saffron strands |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1 tablespoon | chopped nuts (optional) |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine colostrum milk, regular milk, and jaggery. Stir until the jaggery dissolves completely.
- 2 Add cardamom powder and saffron strands to the milk mixture and mix well.
- 3 Grease a steaming bowl or container with ghee to prevent sticking.
- 4 Pour the milk mixture into the greased container.
- 5 Cover the container with aluminum foil or a lid to prevent water from entering during steaming.
- 6 Place the container in a steamer and steam for about 30-40 minutes until the mixture sets and becomes firm.
- 7 Once done, remove from the steamer and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 8 Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set completely.
- 9 Garnish with chopped nuts before serving, if desired.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery is completely dissolved before steaming to avoid uneven sweetness.
