Ingredients
| 1 liter | colostrum milk (cheek) |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 pinch | nutmeg powder |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1 tablespoon | chopped nuts (optional) |
Instructions
- 1 In a large mixing bowl, combine the colostrum milk and jaggery.
- 2 Stir well until the jaggery is completely dissolved in the milk.
- 3 Add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
- 4 Grease a deep dish or container with ghee to prevent sticking.
- 5 Pour the milk mixture into the greased dish.
- 6 Place the dish in a steamer and steam for about 30-40 minutes on medium heat until the mixture sets.
- 7 Check with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the kharwas is ready.
- 8 Allow it to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set completely.
- 9 Once chilled, cut into squares or desired shapes.
- 10 Garnish with chopped nuts before serving, if desired.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery is completely dissolved to avoid lumps in the kharwas.
