| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| as needed | water |
Instructions
- 1 In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and salt.
- 2 Add 2 tablespoons of ghee to the flour and mix well until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- 3 Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 4 Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls.
- 5 Roll out each ball into a thick disc of about 5-6 inches in diameter.
- 6 Using your fingers, pinch the surface of the disc to create a pattern of small ridges.
- 7 Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat and place the roti on it.
- 8 Cook on one side until light brown spots appear, then flip.
- 9 Apply ghee generously on the cooked side and cook the other side until golden brown.
- 10 Flip again and apply ghee on the other side as well.
- 11 Cook until both sides are evenly cooked and crispy.
- 12 Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
